I am not in today, mommy obligations. Hopefully my sweetie pie will be well enough tomorrow and I can see you guys because I miss you!

Anywhoo.  If you want to work on your project go ahead and do so.  If you exercised poor judgement and left it in the blue folder I took home, you will have to restart your project.

For those of you who are finished because you used time management skills, you can do the following activity for extra credit.

Open an EXCEL spreadsheet.  You must do the following:

1.create 4 headings using the equations and format below.

2.create two columns for each heading (x, f(x))

3. copy the numbers for the x column

4.obtain values for the f(x) column by entering formulas for the equations. (click on exc below)

Seniors!!! Dillon has a 101 temp

Sorry I can’t be in today.  Dillon was sick yesterday and is still sick AND today is his birthday!  That sux!

Anywhoo. I’d like you to respond to this with answers to the following questions using the comment box.

You may want to use your binders for accurate answers.  THIS IS A QUIZ grade.  If you don’t have a computer, answer the questions on a separate piece of paper.

1. Name at least six different functions we have studied so far.  Begin your answer with, “So far we have studied….”

2. When dealing with a rational function, what is true about the denominator?

3. Describe in words what is going on with the function f(X) = x2 – 4; begin your sentence with the name of the function.

for example.. the cubic function is shifted to the right on the x axis  (that is not the answer to #3)

4. Describe in words what is going on with the function f(x) = sin ( x + 4)

5. Describe in words what is going on with the function f(x) = (x – 2) 3  + 3

6. What is the answer to 2/3 + 4/5?

7. What is the answer to 4/3 divided by 1/6?

8. What is the answer to 2-2

9. What is the answer to 1/(x+2) when x = -4?

10. Name four ways to represent a function.

11. Hand in on paper – a table, a graph and a verbal description for   (x – 3)2 + 2

Welcome back Juniors!

I am sooo looking forward to having you this year.  And Ms. Beck is very excited to be your teacher in a few weeks.  Junior year is a very busy year without having after school responsibilities activities such as sports, etc or responsibilities at home or a job.  So time management is key!! You want to make your junior year a very good year academically, mentally and emotionally.  To achieve that you will need to focus on time management.  You will need to write down your schedule and prioritize your responsibilities.  I or another teacher can help you with writing that up.

Again, I look forward to an exciting year with you with a primary goal of success on many different levels.

Thanks,

Ms. Harrison

Welcome Back Seniors!!!

Hi Seniors!

This is going to be an exciting year for us. TBA has expanded and we are bigger than we have been before.  Each one of you have an opportunity to be a mentor to your fellow TBA students in the younger grades. I am hoping you will capitalize on that opportunity to a) make a difference and b) establish yourself as a leader.

Weekly, theses posts will have your lesson plan which includes your homework.  These posts will also have attachments that can be uploaded onto the computer.  Some handouts may be only accessed from the classroom.

Let’s have a great year together!
